Hsse Superintendent

We are searching for a HSSE Superintendent. You will report to the Manager, Health, Safety, Security and Environment -Operations. As a field HSSE Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing support to all field Operations, Facilities (including sour), Construction, Well Servicing, and Drilling & Completions regarding implementation of TAQA North HSSE Management Standards. You will champion the HSSE Management system and play an active role in the development of new policies, practices to achieve corporate HSSE goals. You will ensure incident investigations are conducted and root cause analysis is undertaken to eliminate future incidents as well ensuring corrective action are initiated and carried out.

This is a field position based out of Crossfield. You will need to have the ability to travel to field locations several days per week, with a company vehicle provided. Some evening and weekend hours will be required, and you will need to have the ability to respond to emergencies 24/7.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the elements of TAQA North’s HSSE Management System are communicated and practiced in the field.
- Lead field based site-specific emergency response programs.
- Oversee systems to ensure training is provided to appropriate personnel in a timely fashion.
- Ensure regular and frequent HSSE communication is established and maintained within field operations as well as across the organization.
- Liaise with the larger HSSE Team to capture and share best practices, as well as development of standards.
- Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure a strong and cooperative relationship is maintained as required.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure their HSSE management systems meet TAQA North standards are fully developed and practiced.
- Supporting monthly safety meetings.
- Coordinate/Assist in the development of and then communicate and train on safe job procedures and codes of practice.
- Assist with worker injury resolution, modified work programs and WCB claims management.
- Administer, review, mentor, analyze/trend and follow up on HSSE safety opportunities reported.
- Monitor near misses/incidents and assist operational leaders to address, corresponding with severity.
- Conduct safety planned activities (i.e.. Safety stand downs), worksite inspections and safety observations. Assist with coaching where necessary.
- Maintain and monitor an inventory of PPE and safety supplies and assist in procurement of them.
- Coordinate and oversee the site-specific safety equipment inspections and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE including items such as atmospheric monitors, harnesses, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Lead incident investigations using industry recognized incident investigation practices.

Your Qualifications:

- Minimum 10 years direct experience in Health, Safety and Emergency Management including ICS.
- Occupational Health & Safety certificate/diploma.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation preferred.
- Strong understanding of Oil and Gas Operations - including sour, Facilities, Construction, Well Servicing, and
- and Drilling & Completions.
- Knowledge of HSSE management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of Management and field personnel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Solid working knowledge of the OH&S and AER regulators.
- Valid safety tickets and a class-5 driver’s license.
- Excellent computer and Microsoft skills
