Mike's Communications is a telecommunications contractor dedicated to providing cutting-edge solutions to our clients. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, we are expanding our team and seeking Network Setup Liaisons (Canvassers) to contribute to our continued success.
A Mike’s Communications Field Technician performs general duties that include but are not limited to the preparation of a network for the residential installation of fibre optic cable, interacting with the general public for the procurement of jobs for our crews, and ensuring the accurate entry of data into our Customer Relationship Management software.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work outdoors in various conditions to knock on customers’ doors and prepare the network for the placement of fibre optic telecommunication cables
- Coordinate with each client to create project work orders (for burial jobs) that ensure the careful placement of cable so as to not interfere with pre-existing electrical, gas (including propane), communications, or other lines; utilizing a locator tool.
- Create and follow through on appointments with clients
**Qualifications**:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
- Ability to get to and from work without issue.
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including rain and snow
- A valid G Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team; ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Ability to engage with members of the public in a professional and courteous manner
- Able to complete the necessary on the job training for courses included but not limited to: Working at Heights, Traffic Control Person and Flagging, First Aid and Electrical Safety Awareness before the end of their probationary period and then pass the corresponding examinations.
- A precise attention to detail
- Basic understanding of telecommunication systems and equipment is an asset but not required.

Schedule:
- The Employee's standard working hours shall be at least forty (40) per week, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days out of the week beginning on Monday and ending on Sunday.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
