The District of Lantzville, ideally located between Nanaimo and Parksville on Vancouver Island, is home to approximately 4,000 residents. Lantzville is a vibrant and dynamic community known for its small rural atmosphere. The Planner, reporting to the Director of Planning & Community Services, has responsibilities regarding a variety of planning matters that are set out in the job description. The position requires creativity and a proactive approach to identifying and managing a wide variety of planning related work. This includes matters related to current and long-range planning, economic development, and research projects.

Education and experience required include a degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline (and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners), plus two years of progressively responsible experience dealing with all aspects of municipal planning, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
