Casual Call Taker/dispatcher

**Transdev Canada is hiring a casual Call Taker/Dispatcher for our Victoria, BC location.**
As a Call Taker/Dispatcher, you will receive emergency and non-emergency calls and manage the daily operations of a fleet of drivers, coordinating routes and pickups for buses and other transit vehicles. You will also act as a liaison between drivers and customers.
**Your Role**:
- Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information to customers regarding schedules, routes, and services.
- Dispatch drivers and vehicles efficiently to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and coordinate real-time vehicle locations and communicate with drivers to ensure on-time performance.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and dispatch activities.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize dispatch operations and improve service delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Your Profile**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a call-taking, dispatch, or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and dispatch software.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Knowledge of Victoria's geography and public transportation system is an asset.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
**Your location**:
- This is a casual, on-site position in Victoria, BC.
- There is a requirement to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Shifts range from 04:30-13:30, 08:00-16:30, 15:30-23:30, 16:30-00:30.
