Come and be a part of this success- About Potash- The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.- Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. - Work LocationThis role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK initially working a 4x10 schedule. Aligned with the commissioning and operation of the production mining systems (borer miners and extensible conveyor), this role will transition into a leadership role working an equal time 7x7 roster (days and nights) supervising an underground mining crew.

As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. - PurposeReporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the Supervisor Mining will be part of the team responsible for the development of all necessary systems, processes, and work procedures to ensure the safe successful startup, ramp up, and transition to operations of the Jansen Mine starting with the production systems. In addition to this you will be an integral part of the commissioning and transition to operations and be accountable for the daily execution of all Mine related duties and allocated district production crews.
- About the RoleIn this role, you will:

- Be part of the team developing operational work procedures and processes for the Jansen mine operations.
- Be able to obtain/retain a certification to supervise workers in an underground mining environment from the Saskatchewan Mines Branch.
- Identify potential value improvement opportunities and develop plans to mitigate any adverse scenarios.
- Support the Operational Readiness handover/transition from the Project team to BHP Operations.
- Onboard and supervise an underground mining crew to operate all required equipment in your district.
- Be accountable for the daily operation of a mining district ensuring people operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure that active mining faces and open travel ways/areas are geotechnically compliant.
- Ensure proper selection of ground control remediation tools/methods and identify when to elevate situations to higher management.
- Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework, and build a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Identify, engage, and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Leverage technology, data, and experience to evaluate problems and identify solutions.

- Trade or operations background or bachelor’s degree in engineering with relevant levels of work experience in mining or construction.
- Applicable experience in the mining industry, preferably potash.
- Aptitude for translating technical documents and drawings into straightforward operator instructions.
- Ability to anticipate, mitigate and confidently resolve potential problems within and across teams.
- Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to respond to tight deadlines, significant workloads, and changing priorities.
