Digital Marketing Interns

**About Laser City**

Laser City is in the business of fun We have 3 facilities in Alberta (1 in Edmonton, 2 in Calgary) and offer a variety of different products including Laser Tag, Mini Paintball (for ages 8-12), VR Escape Rooms, eSports, Birthday Parties, Day Camps and more.

We're a young business; the owners are in their 30s and most of the staff are 18-30. We're focused on delivering fun and safe experiences to our thousands of customers. We've grown very fast in our first 8 years and we have big plans for more growth.

**About The Internships**

The internships are 6 months long, with the possibility of being extended into permanent positions. You'll be working on real projects (talked about more below) as well as have access to training and mentorship. The salary is the equivalent of $40,000/yr

**Video Production Intern Projects**
- work with members of the marketing and customer service team to identify opportunities to use video content to further Laser City's marketing goals
- research competitors and industry peer's use of video in their businesses
- plan, produce and edit video content demonstrating and explaining Laser City products and services to prospective customers and employees
- plan, produce and edit video content for Briefing Videos explaining rules, safety protocols and game mechanics to players
- investigate possible organic social media content such as TikTok
- distribute content to a variety of platforms including our website, social media, ad platforms, YouTube and internal digital signage

**Data Analyst Projects**
- design and setup a variety of digital dashboards to convey important data, metrics and trends to a variety of people within the organisation
- setup automated systems to capture raw data from different existing systems (point of sale systems, websites, customer feedback, online reviews, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, etc)
- manipulate data using spreadsheets

**Digital Marketer Projects**
- improve our existing CRM systems and processes (Birthday Club, Youth Group Leaders, etc)
- update social media and website with events, promotions, etc
- look for new SEO opportunities
- place and manage PPC ads on platforms like Google AdWords, Facebook, YouTube, etc

**Important Note**

These positions are 6 months contracts, with the potential to be extended into permanent employment. They're ideal for recent graduates as you'll get both real world experience working on actual projects, as well as on-the-job and formal training opportunities.

**General Requirements**

- desire and willingness to learn new skills

**Video Production**
- digital cameras
- audio and lighting equipment
- video editing software (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, etc)
- online video distribution platforms such as YouTube, Wistia, Facebook, etc
- storyboarding and script writing
- motion graphics and animation (would be awesome)

**Data Analyst**
- spreadsheets (we use Google Sheets, but Excel is functionally the same)
- automation tools (Zapier, etc)
- dashboard tools (Google Data Studio, etc)

**Digital Marketer**
- Pay-Per-Click ad platforms (AdWords, Facebook Ad Manager, etc)
- SEO concepts

These roles are primarily based in our office in South Edmonton (5104 67 Ave). We're somewhat accessible by public transit, so please check bus routes, etc before applying.

Hybrid work-from-home is possible, with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office, depending on the needs of the projects underway at the time.
