**Finance Technician**
**Reports to: Director of Finance**
**Location: Edmonton Provincial Office**
**Department: Finance**
**Accountabilities**:
- person meetings where required. Answer member and staff queries on pay, vacation, and bank time.
- Follow up on member and staff enquiries.
- Complete bank reconciliations, preparing bank deposits and posting deposited revenue to the G/L.
- Run Local Chapter Funding
- Remit source deductions to CRA.
- Review and validate member expense claims.
- Process AP transactions, verifying billing accuracy, merchandise receipts and coding.
Obtain required authorization prior to payment.
- Complete data entry into DMS and/or accounting software.
- Process AR transactions.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Process cheques and/or EFT as necessary.
- Answer calls from vendors.
**Payroll**:
- Maintain employer/member payroll information, reviewing and onboarding new hires, information changes, salary/salary replacement information and accruals.
- Prepare and process payroll.
- Prepare payroll information for employee and member groups.
- Input, disburse and reconcile statements for payroll deductions for all assigned staff/members; maintain records for employee payroll deductions and prepare reports for taxing and internal reporting.
- T4 and T2200 completion, processing and filing.
- File ROE’s for employees and members.
**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:
**Education**:
- High School Diploma
- Accounting Diploma
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
**Experience**:
- 3 Years payroll and/or accounting experience
**Skills**:
- General accounting principles.
- Financial and accounting responsibilities.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Exercising judgement and initiative.
- Effective time management and organization, ability to meet deadlines.
- High standards of accuracy and precision: highly organized, detail oriented.
- Intermediate use of Excel with proficiency in Great Plains Dynamics.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $37.38 per hour
