The City of Delta seeking enthusiastic, energetic service-oriented Weight Room Attendants to join the team on a Regular Full-Time basis to work in our fitness facilities. This is recreation work supervising the safety and control of patrons in the weight room. This position assists and guides patrons in the use and care of exercise equipment, the facility and includes some custodial and minor preventative maintenance tasks as required.

The incumbent will have considerable knowledge of proper exercise programs and the use of exercise equipment, as well as knowledge of the theory of movement, body mechanics, and the prevention of sports injuries. The incumbent should also have the ability to instruct individuals and groups (including special needs groups) on physical fitness exercises and should have the ability to demonstrate a complete exercise package.

**Requirements**:

- This position works non-standard work hours will include evenings & weekends. Applicants wishing to be considered for this position must be available for these shifts.
- BCRPA/CFES Fitness Theory & Weight Training Registration. Consideration will also be given to those possessing Canfitpro, CSEP, ACE, ACSM and/or NSCA personal training certifications. Willingness to register with BCRPA within the first year of employment is a requirement, if currently with one of the aforementioned agencies.
- First Aid & CPR-C Certification
