We continue to grow and today are looking for a committed, talented, star to join our team as our **Buyer.**

**Position Summary/Objectives**

The Buyer is primarily responsible for purchasing of packaging materials and/or ingredients required for production of Branded and Private label brands as assigned. They are to maintain appropriate inventory levels and work with vendor partners to create “win-win” partnerships.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Demonstrate and uphold Riverside's Core Values
- Create, review, and communicate purchase orders and/or contracts to our vendor partners.
- Determine supply needs and source potential vendor partners
- Ensure best purchasing options are evaluated to maximize efficiency and cost. Prepare cost-benefit analysis report for review with monthly supply cost reports
- Maintain inventory values, turns and other inventory metrics as per department targets (KPIs)
- Monitor the company's demand for products to avoid supply shortages. Track and/or manage releases of vendor-managed inventory (VMI) as required
- Monitor and update SAP for master data (Contracts, Purchase Orders and Material specific Master Data)
- Collaborate and work cross-functionally with R&D, Transportation, Marketing, Engineering and Planning teams as needed on projects and to manage any supply chain challenges or opportunities to ensure material availability for on-time fulfillment
- Represent procurement in commercialization projects
- Initiate, cultivate, and enhance relationships with our partners
- Always strive for win-win solutions and outcomes when working with our vendor partners
- Strive for continuous improvement in the procurement process
- Stay proactive on industry trends and lead times to mitigate risk
- Other duties as assigned

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering
- Supply Chain experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is an asset
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with SAP (Or other ERP systems)
