**SUMMARY**:
This is an afternoon shift position (Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 11:30pm)

The Process Operator I plays a crucial role in the production process, primarily focusing on the preparation and processing of food ingredient powder blends. This position is hands-on and involves working closely with different types of machinery and equipment.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Possess the ability to setup/operate/troubleshoot processing equipment
- Read and follow technical instructions and determine corrective actions based on readings.
- Perform a variety of duties including grinding, blending, mixing, heating, chilling, filtering, and dissolving products
- Follow all personal and product safety procedures compliant with Robertet standards.
- Work according to schedules and to production standards
- Gather, inspect, and verify ingredients for the processing steps.
- Log and record all batch information for inventory control and transfer.
- Adhere to schedules provided by supervision with respect to training, scheduled cleaning, and routine inspections.
- Communicate issues (equipment, raw material quality, etc.) to the manager in a timely manner.
- Comply with good manufacturing practices and Robertet SOP’s ensuring compliance to SQF and regulatory standards

**COMPETENCY**:

- Ability to frequently communicate with co-workers of varying expertise in a professional demeanor and exchange information accurately.
- Ability to perform fundamental math skills (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), and the ability to do conversions (lbs. to kgs and lbs. to gals).
- Demonstrate ability to read documents written in Standard English text (e.g., administrative policy manuals, manufacturing instructions, etc.).
- Communicate effectively in writing as well as verbally to multiple functional areas.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Required:

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Industrial Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Understanding and compliance with emergency and safety procedures and practices.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, solve problems, and implement process improvements.
- Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Knowledge of HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)

Preferred:

- College Chemical Technician Certificate or Diploma.
- WHMIS Experience.
- Forklift Certified.
- 1+ year(s) Food Safety and HACCP Training.
- 1+ year(s) experience in SQF

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement, and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
Ability to wear PPE, including but not limited to respirators. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment to the job functions. Must be able to see and distinguish differences between labels.
