**ALTERA VICE PRESIDENT (VP) CORPORATE CONTROLLER**
- Remote Role / Canada _

Key Responsibilities:

- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Coordinating activities with external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Manage and mentor a large team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller is preferred.
- Prior experience in public accounting is required, plus a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
- Experienced at process and systems improvement via a history of leading change management projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software revenue recognition is preferred.
- History of successful performance in a fast-paced, matrix organization, including managing multiple priorities, and delivering results on time.
