Job description
Provide intervention for people with deafblindness in the community of Brantford.
If you are energetic, highly motivated, enjoy working with people, come and be part of a team that allows deafblind persons to continue to learn and grow in their home and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Intervention to Deafblind Individuals in their home and community environments
- Provide a level of Intervention that ensures the Deafblind person is successful in all aspects of daily living and life skills including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning etc.
- Ensures documentation and records are completed
- Work as part of a team and provide input
What Are We Looking For?
- A Post-Secondary Education in Intervenor Services, Developmental Services Worker, Social Services Worker or a related field
- Experience supporting Deafblind Individuals an asset but not required
- Knowledge of various communication techniques (sign language, picture cues) an asset
- Strong organizational skills and critical thinking ability
- **Valid Driver’s License Class G required**:
- _Must be available to work flexible shifts - including days (7-3, 8-4), afternoon (11am-7pm, 1-9, 3-11), nights and weekends for all shifts_**:
- Police check is required for all successful applicants as per Ministry Guidelines.
