**Title**: Maintenance Lead Technician

**Position**:Full Time, Monday - Friday

**Compensation**:Annual Salary $64,000.00

**Position Overview**:
The Lead Technician will play a vital role in investigating, identifying, and solving a variety of property maintenance matters both small and large.

The Lead Technician will also work with other members of the maintenance team and 3rd parties to resolve reported maintenance matters.

**Skillset**:
Multidisciplinary background, knowledgeable in:

- Finishing Carpentry, Drywall Repair and Painting
- Competent Plumbing and Electrical knowledge and repair ability
- General Handyman and renovation capabilities
- Household appliance troubleshooting and basic repairs
- Familiarity with residential and commercial building HVAC and emergency systems
- Attention to detail, good time management and workspace cleanliness
- Compliance with legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act and Fire Code
- Foresight and excellent problem-solving, trouble shooting ability
- Strong time management skills and ability to work alone and with the team

**Primary Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Complete a wide range of general maintenance repairs ranging from Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance.
- Help organize and perform preventive, scheduled building and equipment maintenance
- Perform scheduled, preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance as directed by the Operations Manager or Communications Coordinator and record activities utilizing digital Maintenance Work Order Forms
- Mentor and when appropriate, mentor and guide teammates in the proper and effective execution of their maintenance duties
- Assist with Event related projects at different properties as needed
- Report on all completed service requests daily
- Independently complete work assigned in a timely manner
- Maintain and ensure proper operation of the electrical, mechanical, and fire/life/safety components at each property
- Take photos of deficiencies and finished work as required for documenting maintenance repairs and damage utilizing digital reporting channel
- Ensure all company tools and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly
- Emergency response and on-call duty, as required
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, including but not limited to: The Residential Tenancies Act, Fire Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Must be able to lift at least 25 kilograms, and be able to work on ladders of various heights
- Fill in and assist all team members when coverage is needed by maintenance personnel and Building Operators, and all related duties
- Other related duties as required

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Four or more years of general related experience preferred
- Valid BC Drivers license and clear driving record
- Must come with standard personal hand tools, power tools will be provided.
- Superior ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with staff and third party trades
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and written
- Familiarity with smartphone and tablet technology
- Prior training in Fall safety and Scissor lift operation an asset but, must be willing to be trained
- Red seal trade background an asset but, not required
- Must be willing to complete a Police Information Check (criminal record) and provide References
