Located on the ancestral, unceded territory of the syilx nation, in the heart of the beautiful North Okanagan, School District No. 22 (Vernon) provides quality educational programs and a safe learning environment for the over 8,700 diverse students within its 19 schools, 600 teachers, 420 support staff and 60 management staff work together towards the success of our students.

The Indigenous Outreach Worker (IOW) will provide school-based and home-based services for Indigenous students and families to support re-engagement and connection with the school. The IOW is responsible for engaging with students, parents, community groups, agencies, organizations, and service providers with the purpose of supporting student attendance and student success. The IOW will provide support to enhance the success of Indigenous students who may have complex barriers contributing to disengagement from school.
