**We are looking for Security Professionals to join our Ports Security team in Nanaimo**

This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast. **What you would do**:

- Ensure safety and security of the terminal and onboard vessels
- Act as a visible security deterrence
- Regular patrols - every 1 to 2 hours
- Communicate with members of the public to provide direction and/or service
- Unlock/lock up checks and related security procedures
- Monitor and control video surveillance systems
- Radio Check-ins and report writing
- Coordinate and liaise with police or emergency personnel when required
- Flag any breach of security to account management
- Verify all vehicles entering are authorized and hold a valid authorization to access
- Adhere to Securiguard's core Values, Vision, mission

**What you bring**:

- Valid BC Security License
- Pride in delivering outstanding customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfort with radio communication
- Ability to write reports on job-related activities
- Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours
- Access to your own vehicle is strongly preferred
- OFA1 certification is an asset
