Project Manager

The **Project Manager** will be responsible to manage and control the flow of various projects from commencement to completion while ensuring best practices in project quote, review, start-up and completion. This position will work closely with the Operations, Installation Manager and Service personnel.

Job Duties
- Continual and effective communication with Field Manager, Site Supervisors and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate and follow-up project milestones and goals, by implementing and maintaining project schedules through design-assist, detailing, procurement, fabrication and installation timelines to meet contractual requirements.
- Develop or assist project specific logic for site logistics, hoisting and equipment to efficiently manage onsite installation labor.
- Assisting drafting department with technical inputs during shop drawing stage as required.
- Share technical expertise with various stakeholders through the development of project to meet building codes, budget and installation timelines.
- Work to bring project on time and in budget.
- Attend site start-up meetings and report details back to Norstar.
- Attend site meeting for progress, report details back to Norstar.
- Conduct site inspections, following procedures for documentation. Review sites for any remaining materials or rental equipment.
- Prepare and maintain progress and other reports.
- Problem solving and dealing with technical issues at site / finding solutions.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve site problems, and complaints.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations at sites.
- Work with other Supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments.
- Must track and review project proposals of change and change orders.
- Review the logistics and delivery of materials to site.
- Maintain customer service relationship standards.
- Promptly escalate any quality or integrity issues to Company Owners.
- Additional job duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Post secondary diploma in related field or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years minimum as a Project Manager with hands on experience, knowledge and understanding of Glazing installation systems.
- Ability to produce AutoCAD / interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Window Wall, Aluminum Windows, Glass Wall, Glazing, Aluminum Railings, Structural Steel, Facades, Curtain Wall experience preferred.
- Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, communicate (orally and in writing).
- Team player within multi-disciplined team.
- Proven ability to identify customer needs and effectively communicate them.
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services.

A worker shall,

a) Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA and the regulations;
b) Use or wear the equipment, protective devices (PPE’s) and/or clothing that the Norstar requires.

c) Report to employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device, of which the worker is aware and which may endanger him/herself or another worker.

d) Report to employer or supervisor any contravention of OHSA or existence of any hazard of which he/she is aware.

No worker shall:
a) remove of make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by the employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device.

b) Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger him/herself or any other worker nor

c) Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.

A supervisor shall ensure that a worker,

a) Works in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by this Act and the regulations; and

b) Uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn;
And a supervisor shall,

a) advise a worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health and safety of the worker of which the supervisor is aware;
Where so prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for the protection of the worker; and

b) take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.
