Laboratory Technician

**Kemptville, Ontario**

**Contract 12 months**:

- Rotation 1 week day shift, 1 week night shift_
**Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3 pm**
**Night shift, Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm**

Responsibilities include:

- Use of accepted protocols to ensure that all processes required for routine semen production meet established quality and quantity guidelines
- Labeling, dilution, fill-sealing, racking, freezing, extender-supplies, maintenance, lab collection equipment hygiene, lab cleanliness, and liquid nitrogen dispensing
- Lab database management and maintenance of records and lab material inventories
- Participating in occasional staff meetings

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

- College Diploma or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in a lab production facility preferred
- Understanding of lab production, quality control, production database maintenance and recording
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Physically fit with acute manual dexterity, and able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to tolerate work in the cold room environment with temperatures ranging from 3°- 25° C
- Knowledge of the agriculture industry is an asset
- Ability to converse with clients in English and French is an asset
