Position Summary
The Credit & Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing and collecting accounts receivable for The Gear Centre Group. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and effective communication with customers to ensure timely payments and account reconciliation. The position plays a key role in maintaining positive customer relationships while safeguarding the company’s financial interests.
Confidentiality is essential, as this role handles sensitive financial information related to customers and company accounts. The individual must demonstrate integrity, accuracy, and sound judgment in decision-making, as errors could lead to financial losses or impact customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile bank deposits with accounts receivable records.
- Maintain and update accounts receivable files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices, initiate collection efforts, and escalate overdue accounts when necessary.
- Investigate and resolve customer disputes or discrepancies related to invoices and payments.
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales and branch operations, to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures, fair credit practices, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and generate reports related to accounts receivable, collections, and aging accounts.
- Maintain professional and diplomatic communication with customers to support strong business relationships.

Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit, or collections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and accounting software
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or other financial software) is an asset.
