**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate and Personal Tax Manager to lead with strong expertise in Canadian corporate tax, tax structures, compliance, and tax planning. The individual will be responsible for developing and overseeing tax strategies and structures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising on tax implications of business operations. This role requires deep technical knowledge in Canadian tax laws and regulations, as well as the ability to navigate complex cross-border tax scenarios.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Tax Structure and Policy Development**:
- Develop and implement robust tax structures, policies, processes, and internal controls to ensure compliance and optimize tax outcomes.
- US tax knowledge is additional asset
- **Tax Implications and Strategy**:
- Evaluate tax implications (both direct and indirect taxes) of business models and develop strategies to optimize tax obligations.
- **Tax Horizon Models**:
- Prepare and develop tax horizon models on an entity-by-entity basis and consolidated group structures.
- **Tax Return Preparation**:
- Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns, commodity tax filings and manage foreign reporting requirements.
- **Tax Compliance and Audits**:
- Oversee tax provisions, ensure compliance with tax regulations, coordinate tax audits, and manage the overall tax compliance process.
- **Indirect Tax Management**:
- Provide oversight for reporting and timely submission of indirect tax sales filings (e.g., GST, British Columbia PST) and ensure account reconciliations are accurate.
- **Regulatory Advice**:
- Advise senior management on future changes to tax regulations and assess the impact of such changes on the organization’s operations.
- **Transfer Pricing**:
- Conduct transfer pricing activities, develop supportable methodologies, and prepare documentation for cross-border transactions.
- **Canadian Tax Advisory**:
- Provide strategic Canadian tax advice to the company, collaborating with external advisors where necessary.
- **Tax-Related Projects**:
- Manage tax-related projects, including financing structures and tax due diligence, to ensure optimal tax efficiency.
- **Research and Technical Documentation**:
- Research complex tax issues, prepare technical documentation, and provide support for the company’s tax positions.
- **Risk Management**:
- Establish and enhance systems or processes to identify, manage, and mitigate tax compliance risks.
- **Process Improvement**:
- Continuously improve tax processes by developing or implementing best practices and leading initiatives for efficiency and compliance.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent designation required.
- Additional tax qualifications (e.g., CTA) preferred.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant tax experience, including at least 8 years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, including corporate, indirect taxes (GST/PST), and transfer pricing regulations.
- Experience with tax compliance, audits, and the preparation of complex tax returns.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Strong proficiency with tax compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with tax planning and strategies for cross-border transactions, M&A, and financing.
- **Communication Skills**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and external advisors.
- **Analytical Skills**:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail, and the capacity to analyze complex tax issues.
Upside Salary for US taxes, and with percentage on the clients managed is also part of package, addition to the salary offered.

Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree (required)

- Team management: 3 years (required)
