We are recruiting for a 12-month **Analyst** in our **External Portfolio Management** (“EPM”) group within the Capital Markets & Factor Investing department (“CMF”). EPM is a group within CMF responsible for engaging and monitoring external managers in public markets across all trading styles, asset classes, and geographies. The EPM group oversees a portfolio of externally managed funds and separate accounts and has relationships with over 60 of the world’s top asset managers. **What you’ll do**
- Contribute to research and formulate views on active investment strategies in public markets and their performance under various market conditions.
- Meet and diligence hedge fund managers across various strategies and asset classes.
- Participate in EPM’s investment and strategy recommendation meetings and contribute to the investment decision making process.
- Participate in research projects related to top-down portfolio strategy and construction; including factor modeling, portfolio optimization and risk factor analytics.
- Participate in work related to advancing the fund’s framework in public markets.
- Support day-to-day activities including ad hoc requests on datasets, searches, evaluation of background materials, projects and research efforts.
- Support regular weekly research meetings.

**Qualifications** Who We’re Looking for**
- Recently graduated from an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business, Mathematical Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. Quantitative discipline preferred but not a requirement.
- Quantitative background with programming experience in Python, VBA, Java and/or Matlab considered an asset but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), Bloomberg and CapIQ.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong qualitative and analytical skills.
- Passion for investing and a keen interest in capital markets.
