**Position Description**:
ASC is seeking a detailed oriented, full time Health and Safety Specialist (HSS) to join our growing team This role will lead our Health and Safety initiatives, including worksite safety, injury prevention, client safety, and emergency response protocols.
The HSS is responsible for travelling to various ASC locations to provide complete, thorough, and professional health and safety reviews with recommendations, while promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Read and interpret applicable legislation and accreditation documentation to inform policy, procedures, and practices;
- Ensure the workflows and operations of ASC are in compliance and meeting auditor standards;
- Assist in planning and preparing for emergencies;
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures;
- Ensure the completion of worksite hazard assessments and inspections;
- Facilitate Health and Safety training to groups of employees;
- Complete worksite inspections, incident investigations and provide guidance to the Joint Worksite Health and Safety Committee;
- Coordinate and schedule regular vehicle and forklift registrations, inspections, maintenance and repairs review drivers’ documentation related to the transportation program for the agency’s accessible busses and equipment;
**Education and Requirements**:
- High School diploma, with preference for related certifications, such as Occupational Health and Safety;
- 2 to 4 years experience in a Health and Safety related role;
- Knowledge of related legislations such as Alberta Transportation, OHS; and regulatory standards;
- Valid Class 5 drivers license with reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes;
- Forklift Certification or willingness to obtain is an asset;
- Ability to provide a Criminal Records Check
- Willingness to travel in the Olds area, as well as to Strathmore and Airdrie on occasion;
- Aptitude for researching, learning, and adjusting to changes in best practice, policies, standards and legislation;

Pay: $25.95-$27.02 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
