Plumber (Fly In-fly Out)

**Role Purpose**:
The Plumber diagnoses, installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures and HVAC equipment for safe and reliable site services operations. The Plumbers work collaboratively with the team to deliver execution of the integrated plan and schedule.
**Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties**:
**Area 1**:
**Diagnose, install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures, and equipment for safe and reliable site services operations.**
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve site plumbing emergencies.
- Collaborate with contractors, electricians, carpenters, skilled labour and other construction professionals.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Install and maintain site potable water and sanitary supply systems.
- Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure.
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines.
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
- Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems.
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to site HVAC equipment.
- Install waste disposal and sanitary systems.
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines.
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
- Test system for leaks and other faults using testing equipment.
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system.
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.
- Operate equipment safely.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.

- Watch closely for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are reported to supervision and others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk among the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability, and cost).
- Coach, train and mentor skilled labour and apprentice employees when required.
**Area 3**:
**Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.**
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
**Minimum qualifications & Skill Requirements**
- College diploma in plumbing or another related field.
- Certificate of Qualification in Ontario or Inter-provincial Red Seal is preferred.
- Completed apprenticeship is required.
- Propane and gas fitter certificate is considered an asset.
**Work Experience - Nature & Length**
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Previous experience in remote camp site services is considered an asset.
**Additional Qualifications - Competency Requirements**
- A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work with engineering drawings and to have 3D perception skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with ABS, PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
