**POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Senior Member Relations Manager, the Member Relations Specialist (MRS) will be providing support in the oversight and delivery of CPHR BC & Yukon programs and services to the membership and community stakeholders throughout the Lower Mainland (Coastal & Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley). Working with all CPHR BC & Yukon staff and volunteers, the overarching goal of the position is to support and serve members and future members within the lower mainland with member programs, events, benefits, and services that inspire engagement of the existing and prospective members and partners. The MRM team plays both a strategic and a tactical role in delivering on the member experience.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The MRS will be supporting several regional association portfolios (General Membership, Post-Secondary, Networking, & Volunteers) across 3 main functions:
**Events**:

- Help organize, host, facilitate and support regional in-person and online events, including networking, holiday socials, and student-centered events.
- Attend events and deliver presentations to showcase and promote the association, designation, and the benefits of membership.
- Coordinate vendor contracts including sourcing venues, catering and other 3rd party needs to deliver regional networking and connection events.
- Coordinate and order catering and AV requirements for regional in person events.
- Attend industry functions and stay abreast of trends and opportunities affecting the Association and its members for the purpose of informing campaigns, services, and channels that will lead to improved member satisfaction and public awareness.

**Marketing**:

- Work closely with the MRM team and other appropriate CPHR BC & Yukon staff to develop and deliver member recruitment, retention and engagement strategies in alignment with the association’s strategic goals and regional needs.
- Help create and distribute bi-monthly regional newsletters (Informz) to communicate and market member news and events.
- Advocate for the Human Resources Management profession and promoting the CPHRTM designation.
- Respond to member inquiries and provide information about membership benefits and the HR profession.
- Build and maintain relationships with members, potential members, student ambassadors, post-secondary administrators, faculty, partners, etc.

**Administrative**:

- Help recruit, select, train & support volunteers as needed for regional and provincial programs such as event hosts, committee members, post-secondary leaders, student ambassadors etc.
- Collaborate with all organizational units to facilitate and improve member satisfaction and engagement.
- Provide updates, status reports, reviews, and recommendations as requested through the utilization of our CRM.

**QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS**:

- Either or a combination of:

- Relative work experience (2-4 years) in customer relations / account management / sales & marketing, preferably within a member-based body.
- Relative work experience (2-4 years) in roles requiring accountability for stakeholder engagement, recruitment and retention, brand recognition, organizational growth.
- Relevant education or equivalent experience in Marketing & Communications, Event Planning, Business, Human Resource Management, or a related area.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation. Frequent travel with the ability to transport association supplies (1-2 boxes up to 20lbs) across the Lower Mainland is required for business needs at least once a month.
- Ability and availability to host and attend events and networking functions (most of which are after regular business hours).
- Excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and presentation & facilitation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain external partnerships and internal relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software (such as NetForum).
