Assembly & Test Technician (Electronic Boards)

- **The key responsibilities for the Assembly and Test Technician**_ **include**:
- Modifying, characterizing, producing or testing electronic boards, sensors or HMI”s
- Assembly and test of make to stock ( including 380 / G4500 or equivalent NovaNOW portables ) and make to order sub-assemblies, sample conditioning systems, HMI’s and / or sensor boxes
- Preparing, stuffing and wiring panels
- Assembly may include accurate metal finishing, electrical wiring, installation of high-pressure gas connections, preparation and testing of both analog and digital electronics and pre-QC of sub-assembly products
- Pre-QC of mechanical, electrical and function of completed equipment
- All other necessary tasks to support the Modules and Final Assemblies teams including picking parts as required
- Participate in annual inventory count.
- A College level Electronics / Electrical Technician or Technologist Diploma
- At least 4 years of technical experience
- Strong customer orientation
- Outstanding English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in MS Office and Internet Applications
- Familiarity with networks (understanding of IPs, subnets)
- Experience working with protocols such as RS232/422, Modbus
- High degree of organization skills, be able to multi-task efficiently, and be detail-oriented
- **Position Specific Abilities**:_
- Must show competence with panel and cabinet preparation including drilling, tapping and metal fabrication, installation of high pressure gas fittings and bending of SS tubing
- Must be able to demonstrate abilities working and sustaining in a fast paced production area
- Knowledge of Electrical wiring of AC and low voltage devices.
- Must show a comprehensive knowledge of electronics and the interrelationship between software and related micro-electronics
- Excellent skills in soldering, electronics troubleshooting and repairs.
- Must possess safety awareness and follow Nova / TGI and client Health and Safety policies at all times
- Must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities, work well independently and in a team environment, and be results-orientated
- Adjusts to and accepts changes in direction and priorities and effectively responds to change
- Effective documentation through reports, photos and video is second nature
- Capabilities testing and troubleshooting digital and analog electronic, electrical, mechanic and gas sensor devices
- Developing standard operating procedures and test documents, assisting in software development, participating in 5S activities and materials management
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work overtime when required
- Must exhibit good judgement, ingenuity, and personal and professional integrity
- Must be able to work independently, remotely and with the resilience, ingenuity and determination to successfully complete work on time and professionally in the plant or at the client’s site.
