This role completes a variety of repair jobs related to the improvement and maintenance of interior and exterior building fixtures. Duties include building inspections, responding to ticket requests, and performing minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall repair, and groundskeeping. The role requires a broad range of skills, independent work, and coordination with trades.
Permanent Full-Time (40 hours)
Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Onsite
**In this role, you will**:
- Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions. Make recommendations using pre‐established work orders.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of building - roof, exterior doors, grounds, water system, restrooms and lunchrooms.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, drywall, and electrical systems; contact and support tradespersons for major repairs.
- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee project work such as pressure and window washing, carpet cleaning, wall and ceiling washing, high dusting, and hardwood floor maintenance.
- Order parts and maintain required documents.
- Perform work on projects and coordinate with contractors on site.
**You have**:
- Completion of Grade 12
- Experience in facility maintenance, general mechanical trade or general contracting (3+ years)
- Skilled with power tools
- Proficiency with office equipment including MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Ability to lift and move objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Aerial platform license
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Flexible and adaptable with work schedule with occasional after-hours requirements and overtime including holidays and weekends
