Saint John, Canada National Port Security Services Full time

As a Manager you will be responsible for the Operational and financial execution of NPSS in Saint John. You may be required to complete the duties both of a Security Guard and a Supervisor depending on the needs of NPSS.

This position will require you to work flexible hours, respective of statutory obligation, including but not limited to daytime and nighttime hours dependant on the needs of NPSS. This position is a full time salaried position where your hours may fluctuate in accordance with the needs of the business. This can range up to 44 hours of work per week. This position requires availability in accordance with the needs of the business.

This position requires you to dress in business casual attire, at times the wearing of guard uniform may be required with notice. This position may require formal attire for functions.

**Duties**:

- Ensures duties of a security guard and supervisors are in accord with post orders and company policy.
- Audits guards and Supervisors for compliance in accordance with company and site duties, uniforms and personal protective equipment.
- Counsels and disciplines personnel as appropriate, seeks advice from designated representatives for discipline. Meets personally with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions.
- Creates, assess, and develops post orders for best business needs within reasonable time of request by client or NPSS.
- Assists in the training of security guards in review of post orders.
- Input, reconciliation and submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
- In conjunction with company management or designated company representatives acts to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts.
- Creates, augments, and maintains scheduling for all sites in accordance with business needs.
- Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.
- Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with clients, subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
- Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
- Regularly meets with clients to provide high levels of customer service and create action plans.
- As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, carries out lead or supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendation.
- Assess, maintain, and address employee code of conduct compliance.
- Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Licence/Certification:

- Security Guard Licence (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
