The Demand and Supply Planner is a vector of communication between Sales, Procurement and Operations. The goal of the Demand & Supply Planner is to anticipate and maintain stock levels to ensure the business runs smoothly at all levels. In other words, to optimize production plan, procurement plan and services levels.
**Responsibilities**:
- Regularly review and manage the inventory level and product availability of Stella-Jones products, creating parameters to meet the operational needs of the supply chain for both planned, current and future stock requirements.
- Driving ad-hoc analysis on stock levels and monitor overall completed production to plan production.
- Responsible for advising on the adjustment of the replenishment plan by defining priorities and necessary action, both in case of shortage and over stock.
- Ensures detailed follow up of the replenishment plan for regular products, product launches, promotions, discontinued product, and communicate any issues (stock shortfalls/overages).
- Tracks all movement of stock, analyze KPI data to monitor performance.
- Manages product segmentation and statistical models.
- Produces consensus demand plan.
- Attend demand meeting and reconciliation meeting.
- Analyze data history and run statistical forecast models based on trend, seasonality, and other patterns.
- Develop a rolling 6-to-24-month demand plan.
- Work with sales team to analyze market information and develop detailed forecast (historical data, seasonality, market trends, special offers).
- Work with the production and procurement team to identify constraints, to define inventory levels and service levels required.
- Improve forecast accuracy with changes to process and solution.
- Communicate the revised demand plan to management and supply chain (operations, sales, and procurement).
- Align with financial budget.
- Monitor demand plan consumption with actual sale and resolve demand-related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Business Administration Degree or Supply Chain Management Degree and/or Equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related business experience.
- Proficiency in English, spoken and written.
- Proficiency in French, an asset
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem solving, prioritization and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong decision making and presentation skills.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Maintain positive and enthusiastic attitude even in adverse situations.
- Time and Stress management.
- Excellent Customer service skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Highly organized with strong time-management and attention to detail.
- Advanced Computer skills (Microsoft Office), knowledge in SAP and IBP system.
- Extensive product knowledge in outdoor building materials industry (lumber) is an asset.
