**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Clinical Director and working closely with the Head of Service, this position oversees development and maintenance of clinical data for program evaluation and research. The Clinical Data and Research coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of continuous quality improvement activities within the Forensic Psychiatry Program. The Clinical Date and Research Coordinator develops project plans, assigns tasks, oversees implementation and monitors results on a wide range of quality and operational initiatives, ensuring that they support evidence-based and reflective decision making.
**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Master's Degree is preferred
- Regulated Health Professional (Nursing or other relevant regulated health professional) designation required
- LEAN, Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse (Canada), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, Quality Improvement Certificate or related training certification required
- Professional membership with a regulatory College required
- Minimum 3 years front-line experience as a regulated health professional with practical and progressively responsible experience in:
- education/teaching and knowledge translation
- implementation of LEAN methods/tools (e.g. value stream mapping, lean project management)
- implementation of the principles of program evaluation techniques (e.g. logic models)
- implementation of quality improvement principles (e.g. PDSA, root cause analysis)
- implementation of research procedures and regulatory requirements
- supervision of staff
- preceptorship of learners
- working within a provincial program and/or health care network
- Knowledge of the mental health/addictions and the care of persons suffering from mental illness and addictions
- Knowledge of the Forensic System
- Demonstrated ability to implement efficient and cost effective strategies
- Knowledge of benchmarking and pay for performance strategies
- Knowledge of and commitment to principles of recovery
- Demonstrated innovation in the delivery of clinical services
- Excellent team building, mentoring and coaching skills
- Strong leadership capacity with the proven ability to implement processes that adhere to evidenced based practice to produce clinical excellence
- Strong research skills and publication history
- Demonstrated skills to implement processes that minimize risk, maximize patient safety and meet benchmarks in terms of utilization
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Criminal Code and other relevant legislation and industry policy statements
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive and productive relationships within the hospital and the community
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the integration of clinical services, education and research
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to personal professional development
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic procedures required for REB submissions
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong skills in SPSS and related statistical software programs
