If you consider yourself that person, with a positive attitude, then you are the right person for our team Huron Motor Products Limited ("HMP") in Exeter, ON has an immediate opening within our Parts department for a Full-Time Parts Advisor. Important skills you will be responsible for and required to have are as follows: **Position Overview**: The parts advisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the parts department. The role involves assisting customers with parts inquires, locating and selling parts, managing inventory and collaborating with technicians and other departments. **Key Responsibilities**: - **Customer Service**_ - Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner - Assist customers in selecting parts for vehicle repairs, maintenance, and accessories - Provide product knowledge and technical information regarding automotive parts - Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges accurately - **Parts Sales**_ - Sell automotive parts and accessories, both over the counter and over the phone - Recommend additional parts or services to meet customer needs - Inform customers about parts availability, pricing, and delivery times - **Inventory Management**_ - Maintain accurate inventory records, including receiving, storing, and tracking parts - Ensure parts are properly organized and easily accessible - Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering parts to replenish inventory - Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with periodic audits - **Collaboration**_ - Work closely with service technicians and other dealership departments to ensure parts are available for vehicle repairs - Communicate effectively with the service department to ensure timely and accurate parts orders - Collaborate with management to resolve part-related issues or discrepancies - **Administrative Tasks**_ - Process invoices, orders and sales transactions accurately and efficiently - Maintain records of customer transactions and special orders - Prepare and submit parts orders to suppliers as needed - **Technical Knowledge**_ - Stay informed about new automotive parts, tools, and technologies - Continuously update knowledge on parts and vehicles, including vehicle makes, models, and trim levels - **Safety & Cleanliness**_ - Adhere to safety procedures when handling parts, tools and equipment - Maintain a clean & organized work area and showroom **Qualifications**: - High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience in automotive parts or related field preferred - Strong communication and customer service skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks - Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing - Ability to like and move parts as necessary - Valid G Driver's License and a clean driving record may be required **Working Conditions**: - Work is typically performed in a dealership environment, including parts department and warehouse areas - May require standing, bending and lifting 50lbs - Occasional weekend shifts will be required HMP is an equal opportunity employer. Compensation includes a competitive wage with bonuses, company pension plan, and health benefits. On-the-job training, as well as manufacturer training is provided.
