**Job Summary**
The Sales Manager will create and lead unique events for clients, to ensure Hotel X is regarded amongst the top Hotels in Toronto and beyond
**Role and Responsibilities**
- Assists the client in all planning of events including menu planning, beverage selection, event set-up and other services requested by client; assures that all requirements are efficiently communicated and completed to client specifications.
- Handle walk-in inquiries for future business
- Discuss food and beverage minimums and rental fees with clients as well as event planning
- Maintain contact and effective communication throughout the planning process to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction for all clients.
- Work with the Director of Catering, and Executive Chef to ensure successful wedding receptions and social events
- Detail events and generate Banquet Event Orders.
- Communicate all plans, details and arrangements for functions with responsible departments
- Coordinate with preferred vendors catering support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction
- Be present onsite at the start of each event to ensure proper event setup and satisfaction of client
- Follow up with clients for client feedback
- Attend wedding shows and all annual events and menu tastings
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Sales

**Qualifications**
Minimum of 3 years of Sales and/or Catering experience in a Hotel or related industry; experience within a luxury hotel environment is a plus.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations and with others
Previous experience in catering, restaurant event sales or convention services/event planning required.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Opera and Delphi
Knowledge of general sales techniques, and customer service skills
Good conflict management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills with clients
Flexible shift availability including evenings, weekends and holidays. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
