**Divisional Coordinator - Learning Supports**

This position is a Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Learning Services Team Member, with a focus on programming and supports in the area of Inclusive Education. This position will be effective on the commencement of the 2025 2026 school year. The position is based out of the Division Office in Whitecourt.

**Professional Qualifications and Experience**:

- Successful, broad-based educational leadership experience including school and/or district leadership
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Must qualify for teacher certification in the Province of Alberta
- Graduate Degree related to Leadership is preferred
- Be an innovator with leadership experience with a focus on planning and programming for

students with special needs
- Have excellent written, verbal and communication skills
- Have a clear sense of direction which is consistently and clearly communicated
- Have a clear sense of direction aligning with NGPS mission and vision, NGPS Quality Learning Environment, the priorities of the NGPS Education Plan and Alberta Education Standards for Special Education
- Have a clear student centred approach to programming
- Have knowledge in K-12 curriculum, instruction and assessment
- Promote and practice innovative approaches to learning and teaching
- Have strategic planning skills
- Have the ability to work effectively with a variety of people including Alberta Education,

division office colleagues, school administration, teachers and other local and regional partners
- Have the ability to lead change efforts
- Have the capacity to develop leadership potential in others
- Be results-oriented and possess an ability to achieve defined results
- Have the ability to unify schools toward common Division purposes
- Have a reliable vehicle

**Responsibilities**:
This position will share the following responsibilities as a member of the NGPS Learning Services Team
- Coordinate Intervention Services
- Coordinate approval process for severe special needs students and pre-school children
- Supervise special needs programs and ISPs for severe special needs students and pre-school children
- Oversee the management of Program Unit Funding budget
- Liaise with and coordinate programming through Student Health Initiative partnerships
- Represent the Division in meetings with other government service departments supporting service to children and education
- Implement family and community liaison programs
- Assist the Director of Learning Supports in matters related to Inclusive Education
- Support and Assist the NGPS Learning Services Directors in all areas of Learning Services
- Other duties as assigned

Salary and benefits as per Northern Gateway ATA Collective Agreement.
