Verathon® is looking for a Material Handler I to become the newest member of our Operations located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Material Handler I is responsible for in conjunction with the Supply Chain Department, for the timely and accurate flow of raw materials, finished goods, services and information coming into, throughout, and out of VMCA, according to company policy and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage daily shipping duties including local, national and international shipments
- Follow international shipping regulations and customs requirements when preparing shipments
- Coordinate with logistics providers and custom brokers to ensure efficient custom clearance of goods at international borders
- Provide all necessary paperwork consisting of packing slips, commercial invoices, Shipper’s Export Declaration, Master Airway Bill’s as needed
- Arrange for pick up with carriers
- Maintain the shipping area in an orderly state for effective and efficient flow of shipments and information
- Assist in tracking and maintaining shipping records
- Process RTV transactions to return defective parts to the vendor
- Work with Accounting and Buyers to fix purchase order discrepancy.
- Notify and deliver received goods to the appropriate person or department after receiving
- Responsible for maintaining all receiving records
- Receive inventory into stock
- Transact material request from Production, Engineering, or other groups
- Process physical returns from HQ and Warranty
- Ensure the accurate and timely flow and storage of materials throughout VMCA
- Filling bins from the warehouse required for production floor builds
- Create, issue, and receive work orders for production.
- Setup and maintain Kanban items
- Ensure FIFO is followed
- Ensure inventory accuracy of raw materials and finished goods to the required goals
- Complete cycle counts as required, submit count sheets in a timely manner and reconcile discrepancies
- Process NCM transactions of parts rejected during production builds
- Work with Purchasing and Suppliers on setting up and maintaining Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and KANBAN systems

Qualifications:

- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read and follow procedures
- Ability to meet required deadlines
- Demonstrated detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 26 kg routinely
- Knowledge and skill in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
