Cathodic Protection Technician

Position Summary:
As a **Cathodic Protection Technician**, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cathodic protection systems used to control corrosion in metal structures such as pipelines, tanks, and other infrastructure. You will work closely with engineers, field personnel, and clients to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of corrosion control systems.

- Work duration: spring, summer, and fall projects
- Rotations vary by project
- Day shift

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform regular inspections and testing of cathodic protection systems to ensure proper functionality. Install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points/stations
- Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports, including test results, system status, and remedial recommendations for improvements.
- Follow safety standards and best practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.

**Requirements**:
- Certification: AMPP/NACE certification (Cathodic Protection Tester or Technician) and AIT CP Level 1, or equivalent, required.- Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with cathodic protection systems, with a basic understanding of corrosion control methods and cathodic protection principles.- Remote Work: Willingness to work in extremely remote environments, including extensive walking, trekking, and hiking for long periods of time.- Equipment/Navigation: Valid Class 5 driver’s license (non-GDL) with clean driving record. Experience operating ATVs, ARGOs, quads, or Sherps is considered a strong asset, along with navigation in remote locations.- Education: High school diploma required; technical degree or diploma considered an asset.- Skills: High attention to detail and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.- Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage time and meet deadlines.
