Position Overview:
The Distillation Lead Processing Operator will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment utilized for the purpose of tasks related to the Mechanical Vapour Recompression Units (MVR), Distillation System, Polishing System, ADF Blending System and the Flight Bloo concentrate blending system, while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

- Assist in the training of all operators of in the proper operational procedures and inform the Operations Manager immediately of any deficiencies in operation, daily inspections and daily paperwork submitted by all operators;
- Manufacture Flight Bloo concentrate according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as required;
- Actively monitor tank levels ensuring they are always kept full and blend Type I De-Icing fluid when tank volumes are low;
- Professionally operate, maintain and instruct operators on all Processing Equipment;
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all processing equipment;

Required Skills and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent;
- At least 2 years processing experience;
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and show good judgement;
- Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of processing/mechanical systems;
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Work Environment:

- The Distillation Lead Processing Operator will have a mixture of operational and office duties. While much of the job will be spent in the field ensuring that operational goals are being achieved, time will also be spent on office tasks. During weather events, it is likely that the Distillation Lead Processing Operator will need to take over some of the duties of the Operations Supervisor to free up, and reassign some labour resources. Exposure to cold weather is expected. Noise level in the work environment is excessive at times.

Physical Demands:

- Regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods and work outdoors for long periods when necessary;
- Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;
- Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently;
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to, in excess of 75lbs;
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
