Housekeeping Assistant

Provide all cleaning and related housekeeping duties for properties managed by Parkdale Place Housing including residential suites, public areas and laundry facilities.

**Specific Duties**:
1. Housekeeping & laundry duties in residents’ apartments.

a) vacuum carpeting and wash vinyl floors

b) wash bathtub/shower, toilet and sink

c) clean bathroom mirror

d) strip, wash & dry bed linen, & remake bed if needed

e) launder bath and kitchen towels, returning items to resident.

f) clean outside of cupboards and handles, sink, stove top, stove vent, stove and refrigerator

g) check outside stove and refrigerator for cleanliness and clean where necessary

h) replace stovetop liners as needed.

i) clean bathroom fan grill as needed

j) wipe high touch areas such as light switches, door handles

k) clean windows as needed.

l) remove garbage as needed

1.2) Spring & Fall.

a) clean air conditioner filters and surface

b) wipe down walls as required

c) wipe down all ledges and baseboards (within reach)

d) clean stovetop caps, rings as required

e) clean vent hood & filter

f) wipe windowsills & air conditioner

g) dust lighting fixtures as required

h) clean suite windows (inside, within reach)

i) dust venetian blinds

j) check balcony/patio for cleanliness, sweep and clean glass.

Perform all other housekeeping, janitorial & laundry duties as required

2. Weekly Common Area Cleaning

a) Vacuum, sweep and mop stairwells

b) Sanitize handrails (halls & stairwells), elevator buttons, door handles

c) Vacuum the hallways

d) Clean resident laundry rooms, sweep, and mop and remove garbage

e) Clean and vacuum library, wipe shelves, tables and chairs.

f) Gym, wipe down equipment, empty garbage, vacuum

g) Clean boardroom, wipe table, vacuum, and remove garbage

h) Vacuum & mop storage rooms, halls in basement area.

i) Main floor bathrooms,

j) Main entrance, vacuum, mop windows and touch points.

k) Tub room, mirror, sink, toilets, mop floor, empty garbage

3. General duties:
a) ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe manner

b) monitor and maintain supplies

c) report and attend to unsafe or faulty equipment as required

d) comply with Work Safe BC Regulations

e) ensure designated work areas are kept clean and tidy

f) ensure tenants’ privacy and confidentiality are maintained

g) attend in-service and continuing education programs and approved work-related conferences and seminars

h) maintain current knowledge of and comply with all policies and procedures

i) perform all other related duties as required and requested

j) attend staff meetings

k) meet regularly with the Chief Executive Officer as required or requested

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
