F&b Supervisor

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible, under the supervision of the Operations Manager for managing all Food & Beverage operations in the property and delivering an excellent guest experience while achieving budget objectives for sales, profitability and return on investment. Food and Beverage outlets include the Banquet department. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement.**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide leadership and guidance to the hotels food and beverage team in achieving their goals and objectives;
- Participates in the recruitment and selection of food and beverage department employees.
- Manages the department orientation/onboarding of food and beverage employees.
- Supervise the training and development of food and beverage personnel.
- Ensure that all “Standards of Operations” are known and followed in all outlets;
- Performs employee coaching and counseling, progressive discipline, and completes performance reviews.
- Manages the scheduling of food and beverage personnel.
- Develops and maintains the departmental budget, in keeping with the hotel business plan.
- Participates in the planning and establishing of objectives, with related Department Heads.
- Conducts regular departmental staff meetings.
- Develops and implements contingency plans which minimize vulnerabilities and optimize opportunities.
- In general, recommends plans and implements various employee relations and communication activities relative to the food and beverage personnel in the hotel.
- Ensures quality of food and beverage preparation and presentation is in accordance with established standards.
- Recommends, plans/implements local advertising, promotion and market research activities, new products, presentations, recipes or pricing for sales improvement
- Monitors level of service to all customers to ensure consistency with established brand and company standards and good judgment.
- Responsible for the Food and Beverage cost and control under the supervision of Operations Manager.
- Produce a monthly Food and Beverage revenue forecast.
- Conducts continuing review of the restaurant and banquet areas, equipment and supplies; ensures scheduling of preventative maintenance, service and repairs, as required.
- Orders and/or purchases goods, supplies or equipment in accordance with established guidelines and in accordance with anticipated needs under the supervision of Operations Manager.
- Works closely with related department heads to optimize guest satisfaction, relative to food and beverage.
- Assist the Operations Manager in overall operation of the hotel.
- Assist the Operations Manager with development of special reports and/or special projects.
- Maintain a work schedule that is conducive to the operations of the hotel. Hours of work will vary from day to day based on business requirements.
- MOD shifts as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Smart Serve Certified
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Food & Beverage Supervisor in a fast-paced environment an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Quick thinking and able to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, Micros, POS)
- Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
- Guest oriented and service minded

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Manager On Duty shifts as required
- Working onsite at the hotel property
- Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate and evening and weekend work is required
