We’re looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and empathetic Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) to join our growing Corporate Sustainability team.
Your role will be required to regularly perform essential duties on behalf of the company from your assigned Aviso office. Your role is considered medium flexibility, requiring you to work onsite 1-3 days per week at our office at 1111 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC.
The Director, DEIB will be instrumental in:
- Building an open, fair, and collaborative oneaviso culture
- Ensuring DEIB principles influence our strategy, value proposition and brand
- Developing policies and protocols that position Aviso as a strong DEIB leader

**What your day looks like**:
- Collaborate with the VP, Corporate Sustainability, leaders in People & Culture, and the VP, Communications to develop, implement and manage Aviso’s first comprehensive DEIB strategy
- Oversee strategy execution and supporting initiatives, programs and materials, as outlined below
- Partner with our Research & Insights team to collect and interpret internal data to support the direction and evolution of the DEIB strategy, programming and internal education, including identifying and supporting equity-deserving communities and ensuring the representation of diverse perspectives across the organization
- Work closely with the Manager, Corporate Sustainability and Manager, Internal Communications to ensure that DEIB-related programs, committees, initiatives, integrated communications, and storytelling support the DEIB strategy and reflect current DEIB best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and teams, including Human Resources, People & Culture, Learning & Development, and Research & Insights to support and promote meaningful, engaging and outcome-driven awareness and educational resources
- Ensure Aviso’s DEIB committee and related colleague-led initiatives have the appropriate governance, accountabilities, and outcomes to support the DEIB strategy
- Influence policies and processes across the organization to build an inclusive and accessible employee experience, including talent acquisition, career growth, communications, and total rewards
- Act as a DEIB advisor and SME for senior leadership, including the Executive Committee and Board
- Develop a Reconciliation Action Plan for Aviso
**Requirements**:
**Your experience and skills**:
- 10+ years of related work experience, preferably in a matrixed environment
- Minimum 5 years in a dedicated DEIB role, including experience building and executing DEIB-related strategies and programs, policy development, measurement, governance, and communications
- Experience advocating for and developing a model of enterprise-wide intersectional allyship
- Experience advising and influencing senior leadership on DEIB strategy, programs, and best practices
- Exceptional writing, presentation and influencing skills
- Post-secondary DEIB accreditation is an asset
- Fluent communication skills in English are required; bilingual skills in French are an asset
- Lived experience as a member of a historically underrepresented community is a distinct asset
