Barber Collins security is looking for a casual time Security Guard to work at a poultry facility in Hamilton, ON.

**Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be preferred as bus transportation is not reliable.**

**Shifts**:*

*_Schedules are based off of a mandatory two-week rotation_

Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:

- 8 and/or 12 hour shifts that could be days, evenings or nights. Must be available weekdays/weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays.

This is a casual position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Casual

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
