To work as a welding technician performing heavy duty structural repairs on transit buses and coaches.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- To perform cutting and welding tasks. Report to Shop Supervisor any discrepancies or weaknesses on any structural welding performed.
- To currently possess or obtain CWB welding certification.
- To complete any requested reports in CWB audit book located in shop supervisor’s office at all times.
- To work in conjunction with NFI welding engineering and the CWB in order to maintain compliance.
- To make necessary repairs as directed by the shop supervisor and manager.
- Remove unsafe equipment from service and report to supervisor or manager for repairs to be scheduled.
- To work with other welding technicians in cooperation to achieve production timelines.
**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:
- Grade 12 minimum.
- Certified CWB welder or welding experience / schooling.
- General hand tools. Air tools, grinders sanders, plasma cutter and welders, etc,.
- Must be self-motivated to produce high quality work in a timely manner. Must maintain structural integrity and strength.
- Must be reasonably fit, job includes lifting, bending, hands and knees work, pushing equipment.
