Creekstone Care Centre is a modern long term care home, purpose-built for 180 seniors and conveniently located right by Second Narrows Bridge on Oxford Street in North Vancouver. Creekstone is family-owned and a sister-site to care homes in Kamloops, Richmond and soon Sechelt. We care about wellbeing and have a special staff lounge to recharge both your phone and more importantly, your mind. And we are proud to be just steps away from Phibbs Bus Exchange and right on the bike route to promote green responsible living. (Yes, we have a bike locker and showers too.)

We are seeking casual recreation aides to passionately contribute to the delivery of quality of life programs to Residents by focusing on creating joy through connections, engagement and feeling valued. As a recreation aide you embrace the Resident’s physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs & interests along with the principles of Person and Family Centered Care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of recreation programs including a minimum of one year recreation experience in Long Term Care and/or comparable roles;
- At least one year of recent relevant experience working with individuals with dementia
- Completed a recognized Recreation Therapy Program or Activity Assistant diploma or Certificate;
- Basic computer skills (including MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word) Additional certifications include First aid CPR C,‘Serving it right' and Food Safe Level 1;
- GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approach) training is an asset.

- As needed to support the Full Time and part time recreation team**

Wage rate: $25.83*/hr

**Wage rate per Government wage levelling. ** Benefits limited for casual employees

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $25.83 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- North Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
