**Guitar Adjudicator - Festival 2025**
**Location**: Cosmo Music, 10 Via Renzo Drive, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4S0B6
**Dates**: Monday March 24, 2025 - 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm
**Position Overview**:
Cosmo Music and Chorus Music are seeking experienced and accomplished Guitar Adjudicators for our upcoming music festival. This event will feature a diverse range of talented musicians, and we are looking for adjudicators who can provide insightful and constructive evaluations, as well as lead a brief masterclass at the beginning of each session.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Adjudicate guitar performances for various age groups and skill levels, assessing technique, expression, interpretation, and overall musicianship.
- Conduct a short masterclass at the beginning of each session, offering participants educational insights and guidance on guitar performance.
- Deliver constructive, encouraging feedback to all participants, helping them to grow and refine their skills, both verbal and written.
- Collaborate with fellow adjudicators and event organizers to ensure a smooth and professional adjudication process.
- Award certificates and prizes to outstanding performers based on established criteria.
**Qualifications**:
- **Minimum**: Master's degree in Guitar Performance, Guitar Pedagogy, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience (such as extensive performance or teaching experience at a high level).
- Proven experience in adjudicating music competitions, festivals, or exams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, supportive feedback and engage with participants during masterclasses.
- In-depth knowledge of guitar repertoire and pedagogical approaches.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of adjudicators and organizers.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in leading masterclasses and adjudicating at music festivals, conservatories, or similar events.
- A strong background in teaching guitar to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Familiarity with a wide range of guitar literature, spanning classical to contemporary works.
**Compensation**:
$55 per hour.
