**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with children and families in licensed group child care programs.
- A minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience in childcare.
- A current Early Childhood Education (ECE) License to Practice.
- A valid CPR/First Aid certificate specific to childcare.
- Three (3) reference letters are required.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Demonstrates reliability and trustworthiness.
- Exhibits flexibility and adaptability in a high-demand environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of staff hiring procedures.
- Ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent supervisory skills, including team building, workflow management, performance appraisal, employee development, and conflict resolution.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- **Administration**_
- Oversee the daily operations of Child Care Services and its various components, ensuring the development and implementation of policies and procedures that align with the organization's standards. This will ensure the efficient, effective, and safe operation of Child Care Services.
- Familiarize yourself with Child Care Licensing Regulations in British Columbia (BC) and the BC Early Learning Framework. Demonstrate a solid understanding of child development, child care programming, and related legislation, regulations, and policies in BC.
- Actively contribute as an integral member of a cohesive management team, working toward the mission of Forest City Church.
- Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain proper records for the center.
- **Family/Client Support**_
- Provides support and resources to parents concerning financial assistance, child development, and related issues.
- Offers leadership, direction, and information to external agencies regarding children and families when necessary.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with families through ongoing communication, informing parents about operational changes, policies and procedures, and any other issues related to their use of services.
- Manages the waitlist to ensure spaces are filled at each center and that all interested families receive fair and equitable treatment.
- Oversees the implementation of parent orientation tours and initial parent agreements.
- **Fiscal Management**_
- Develops the annual operating budget and provides financial direction for the center.
- Maintains complete and accurate financial records, including fee statements, payroll, and operating expenses.
- Possesses knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Ensures that all fee reductions, grants, and government assistance programs are in place and properly maintained.
- **Team Leadership**_
- Provides leadership, guidance, and support to staff, including work allocation, training, professional development, and conflict resolution.
- Implements a fair and equitable hiring process when vacancies arise, ensuring compliance with licensing and government policies.
- Coaches, develops, and supports staff and volunteer teams to achieve excellence in performance.
- Evaluates performance, initiates appropriate corrective actions when necessary, and offers development opportunities for staff.
- Conducts regular meetings with Child Care staff to discuss development, departmental priorities and goals, operational issues, and long-term planning.
- Consults with staff regularly to discuss the progress and concerns of individual children.

**Job Types: Full-Time (1-year Maternity Coverage**)
