Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Estimator in North Bay, Ontario. The Estimator will require a high level of motivation, professionalism and independence. **JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Preparation of equipment, labour and material estimates using Bid to Win or similar software.
- Prepare and distribute RFQs, and solicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Responsible for estimating heavy civil and open pit mining projects.
- Review of contract drawings, specifications, and quotes at the bidding stage.
- Quantity take-offs from the contract drawings and specifications.
- Complete tender closing and tender submissions.
- Build project schedule and budget.
- Assist field staff with daily tasks.
- Monthly payment certificates to the owner and subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop a quality control plan with the QC manager and monitor compliance.
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment, both interior and exterior
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Must possess a valid G Drivers License.
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering is an asset.
- Knowledge of general construction and asphalt paving is an asset.
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Must be capable of all physical requirements including working at heights, lifting (up to 50lb), bending, climbing, etc.
- Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Must have strong computer skills, familiar with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and Microsoft Project would be an asset.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to take direction and communicate verbally.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies.
