**About us**

Furry Tails Toronto is a well established and growing 5-star, dog walking/pet sitting company that has serviced the East York and surrounding area for over 8 years.

We provide private walks and group walks, both on and off-leash, day and evening care, overnight boarding as well as drop-in visits with cats and puppies.

We are currently seeking a part-time, occasional, permanant pet care provider to assist with on-leash private walks, drop-in visits, daycare and boarding with the opportunity to grow a group dog pack of up to 6 dogs within the service area of Donlands to Victoria Park and Lumsden to The Beach - we travel as far as Cherry Beach with large packs.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a full-time position, we are hiring to mainly cover private walks/drop-ins that we can no longer juggle into our busy schedule but we may also need you on occasion to take on full coverage in case of emergencies, vacation or sick days.

Pay scale is on a per dog/per service basis.

**You must meet the following requirements**:

- YOU MUST LOVE DOGS - A LOT
- Provide a safe and enjoyable walking experience for dogs
- Be able to handle multiple dogs at once
- Be able to recognize signs of distress in dogs and act accordingly
- Be knowledgeable about basic dog behavior and obedience commands
- Be able to provide basic first aid if needed
- Be punctual and reliable
- Have a cellphone with data
- Have a reliable vehicle with a full G license
- A clean driving record
- Have the ability to work under intense conditions (e.g., weather, physical challenges, fast-paced).
- No criminal record
- Live in close proximity to or just outside the service area
- Have professional experience handling dogs (minimum one year to be considered)
- Be both an animal and people person. Our clients (two-legged and four-legged) are treated like family
- Be available to work in the East York and surrounding area from roughly 9 am - 4 pm M-F, with evening and/or weekend shifts on occasion
- Have work/character references related to the job experience required (not family members or spouses)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 5 - 20 per week

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
