**Job Description for Server**

**POSITION TITLE**: Service Captain

**REPORTS TO**: F&B Manager

The Server performs all tasks associated with setting up, serving, and breaking down of function rooms where banquet food service activities are performed. He / She is responsible for the prompt, courteous, smooth and efficient service of food and beverage to guests during banquet functions.

Additionally, work as a team to follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events.

**SERVICE CAPTAIN JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Learn, know and project all ICC service standards while working.
- Monitor and coach staff while on premises to ensure their adherence to ICC service standards.
- Organize event preparation in a coherent and effective manner to achieve and surpass all service times and targets. Be tuned to the specialized event details for each ICC event and ensure they are not missed or forgotten.
- Maintain high standards of personal grooming and monitor all staff for compliance to same.
- Take full ownership for assigned events and maintain communication and organizational standards to ensure outcome excellence.
- Learn and facilitate the understanding of all event BEO’s prior to beginning each shift.
- Maintain reporting so that event analysis and organizational improvement(s) can be achieved.
- Manage and interact with client convener and client guests to ensure effective and professional service delivery.
- Maintain an approach to duties that aims to achieve and surpass client and colleague expectations.
- Manage critical staff/client interactions and report daily on staff performance. Recommend staffing changes where appropriate.
- Interact with other Supervisors and event security staffing to maintain a safe and pleasant event space for all guests.
- Assume and maintain responsibility for ICC cleanliness, security and operational readiness through until facility closure at end of day.
- Monitor and make recommendations to Banqueting Management concerning sensible operational changes and required adjustments.

**PREREQUISITES**:
Warmth and graciousness with the ability to function in a busy environment. Create stellar guest experiences and flexible availability to work on nights and weekends.

**EXPERIENCE**:
Two years’ experience on similar role in upscale hotel/banquet with excellent oral and written communication skills.

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
