**Job Qualifications**
The Materials Planner is responsible for reviewing materials and supplies daily, ensuring that all necessary raw materials are available to meet production requirements.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Physical count; daily and monthly monitoring, ensure physical count matches electronic count (Ultriva/AS400)
- Determine what action needs to be taken based on supply levels
- If supply levels are low - go to the production line to do a physical count and determine next steps
- Correct any errors regarding supply stock as needed, data entry into spreadsheets for tracking purposes
- Card restocking; communicate with warehouse team, make judgment calls when stock cannot last another day, communicate with supplier
- Forecasting; required to communicate the EDI information from customers by transferring that information into a spreadsheet to plan the following weeks’ production needs
- Plan and participate in build-outs, new product launches
- Accountable for inventory quantity and cost, as well as expediting material
- Must make contingency plans in the event of a crisis - material is needed, contact supplier, and communicate what is needed (persistence is key)
- Loop resizing; make sure daily usage is correct in Ultriva, to keep a continual flow of product, update information for supplier to know the future need, communicate with production departments as well as the supplier for full knowledge
- On-call Planner; as required, must be available to be on call for support with suppliers, or other planners
- Meetings; report out in the manager meetings, daily meetings with warehouse team, weekly meetings with materials team, quarterly suppliers meetings, investigation - ensuring that the product is in the plant, logistics - daily meetings with Logistics Coordinator for urgent matters
- Must be willing to work longer than normal hours when required including weekends.
**Job Qualifications**
**_ Education_**
- Successful completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management would be considered an asset
**_
Experience_**
- 5 Years of production and warehousing experience
- 5 years of experience dealing with products from raw materials through to finished goods
- Automotive manufacturing experience

Skills and Abilities_**
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when doing physical and electronic inventory counts
- Ability to adapt to changing demands of production from customers and team member issues
- Actively listen to fellow team members about concerns or issues that arise
- Ability to effectively manage a small group of professionals to achieve shared and personal goals
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to speak in front of groups of people, and ability to effectively communicate information with varying levels of individuals (both team members and management groups)
- Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
- Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once
