JOB OVERVIEW
The Maintenance position reports directly to the Director Property Management. As the Maintenance person, you will oversee minor repairs and improvements, preventative maintenance, championing life & safety standards, collaborating with the current Maintenance team on major repairs and improvements and supporting other operational departments. Your efforts will align to deliver the best quality products, improve both tenants and clients’ satisfaction and deliver against key financial goals and performance metrics for your department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inspecting the condition of the property is an important part of the job; maintain and promptly repair what you can.
- Pickup litter/debris during daily inspection of properties
- Basic landscaping of properties
- Snow removal, if and when required
- Document and report immediately all deficiencies you can’t fix.
- Meeting with your team daily, weekly and monthly; keeping your people informed of property.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited resources/solutions exist.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies when not on site. (not expected to be on call 24/7)
- Ability to adapt to tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREDEducation
- Secondary School Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
- Trade Qualification in one or more of the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration preferred
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset

**Skills**:

- Physical mobility and stamina
- Experience working with contractors and sub-trades
- Excellent communication, specifically written and oral English, and customer service skills
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to collect, analyze and summarize information;
- Attention to details;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group environment;
- Ability to prioritize workload and adjust to shifting priorities;
- Strong work ethic, respectful and reliable;
- Basic knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pickup weight of 10 lb
