Assistant Maintenance Manager

The maintenance manager is responsible for ensuring the best possible maintenance practices are applied to Inovata Foods' assets including processing and packaging equipment, industrial support equipment, site grounds and building Infrastructure. **Position Responsibilities**: - Review and effect any necessary actions regarding the following of Food Safety and Quality documents - Manage: work orders, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and temporary repairs - Verify expected results of preventative maintenance work and adjust tasking as required. - Assists in overseeing facility maintenance such as compressed air, water, steam, and refrigeration. - Oversee the monitoring and documentation of the facility equipment related to process temperature control. - Participate in monthly plant and equipment inspections - Ensure that new equipment or modified existing equipment is included in the maintenance program - Scheduling of the maintenance team for various morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. - Leads the development of skills and knowledge of the technicians and equipment set-up crew. - Works with maintenance purchaser to ensure that an optimal level and up-to-date M&R parts inventory are maintained. - Corrective Actions Requests for maintenance: internal audits, third party audits - Review and enforce the GMPs with employees - Participate or provide support to HACCP team - Promotes our SQF program for food safety and quality to all employees throughout the organization - Review food safety non-conformances from plant inspections and assist in implementing corrective actions - Support the management of capital projects to implement, modify and upgrade existing processes and installations. Supervise the installation, completion and commissioning of new equipment and building projects as assigned, including establishing maintenance schedules that optimize asset output. - Alternate to the Assistant Maintenance Manager is the Maintenance Supervisor - Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the 5S program within the maintenance function. - Acts as a technical resource to address and resolve any maintenance related inquiries and problems. - Assists in the development of budgeting, cost control, maintenance related operational efficiency, cost optimization, supporting Capital Expenditure (Capex), Operational Expenditure (Opex) for the company maintenance activities and all the reporting associated with the department's costs. **Background and Experience Requirements**: - Third Class Engineer License/Certification in good standing with TSSA - "A" Refrigeration certification in good standing with TSSA - 5 years' experience in a Food manufacturing plant environment **Experience and Skills Preferred**: - Experience in leading and supervising teams - Demonstrated experience with refrigeration both Freon and ammonia. - Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong mechanical aptitude related to steam and ammonia. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to lead cross-functional teams using Root Cause Analysis problem solving methodology. - Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. - Ability to develop and implement systematic and sustainable programs and solutions. - Be able to work within a food manufacturing environment. **Compensation**: - Performance bonus program - Education Assistance Program for job related training - Benefits after 6 months employment - 3 weeks vacation - Group RRSP Deferred Profit Share option after 1 year of employment
