The Full time permanent Lumber Yard Worker & Driver is responsible for general duties in the yard including loading, unloading of company delivery vehicles, delivering and unloading materials, and maintaining the inventory in the yard.

**Duties**:

- A commitment to service excellence is a must.
- Be knowledgeable/willing to learn about all products stored in the yard.
- Assembly of home packages - knowledge and experience is residential construction an asset
- Be familiar/willing to learn the grades, dimensions and species of lumber stocked in the yard.
- Keep the yards, cut shop, receiving bay in a clean and presentable appearance.
- Use proper material handling techniques to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers, and safe handling of yard inventory.
- Unload/Load transport trucks with product for the store and yard.
- Deliver and unload materials to jobsites.
- Operate the yard forklifts once training and certification has been achieved.
- Operate the saws in the cut shop once the employee has been given instructions on the safe operation of the saws.
- Be able to work in the yard in adverse weather conditions.
- Additional duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Working in a lumber yard is a physically demanding job and requires regularly lifting up to 50lbs at a time. Bundles of shingles, bags of cement and 24x30” patio stones are some of the larger, heavier items that need to be loaded and unloaded manually at times. Yard employees must be physically able to lift heavy items.
- Forklift license is preferred, but will train, and a G license is required.

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
