Laundry Attendant

Wingate Dieppe Hotel is a part of the Wyndham brand and we're looking for a laundry Attendant to join our team as soon as possible

Laundry attendants provide excellent guest service to all hotel guests while providing them with clean and comfortable linen during their stay and assisting housekeepers with their needs. Hours vary from early mornings, week days and weekends. Up to 35 hours/week based on occupancy.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate, clean, and maintain laundry daily.
Fill linen closets with clean laundry.
Sort and separate soiled linens.
Perform additional tasks when required by your supervisor.

EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

Must have excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of laundry chemicals (WHMIS).
Knowledge of cleaning equipment.
Time management and priority setting skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS

Lift or move up to 40 lbs.
Stand for up to eight hours.
Wear rubber, latex, or vinyl gloves.
Shift and weekend work required.

To be successful in this role you must have the ability to work safely with various pieces of equipment (ex - sheet press, washers, dryers, etc..) as well as with chemicals and various other pieces of cleaning equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours much of which is spent standing. Medium work -- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, ability to multi task. Possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range. Must possess the ability to convey and understand information and ideas in English. Ability to be organized and recognize when linen closets need replenishment. Capable of working alone and on a timed schedule
